Omnicell, Inc., a provider of system solutions to acute care facilities, has brought to market its Anywhere RN remote medication management application, which provides nurses the option to remotely access an Omnicell automated dispensing cabinet from any hospital computer or workstation.
The Anywhere RN application enables nurses to manage their medication administration workflow remotely, including requesting medication issues and returns, documenting waste and reviewing a patient's profile, according to the company.
"This workflow also allows the nurse to avoid distractions during the medication administration process as recommended by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices," adds Jennifer Cartright, senior product manager at Omnicell.
The Omnicell 14.0 automated medication management solution offers enhanced operational and clinical functions including system-wide post-case reconciliation for anesthesia and expanded dose reconciliation. To help increase patient safety, the Omnicell 14.0 meets or exceeds 100 percent of the ISMP recommendations, according to the company.
