A Healing Place

A Rose Bowl Parade float honors nurses and wows the crowds.

On April 16, 2007, Bare Root Inc. was formed as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization to raise money for the design and construction of a Rose Parade float that would honor nurses and the nursing profession. The theme of the float, "A Healing Place," serves as a metaphor for the healing environments nurses create through the use of their qualities and skills. "A Healing Place" is created anywhere there is a nurse and a patient - from the hospital to the battlefield; from a school to a home; from a clinic to a specialty care center.
