I am a new RN - who went back to school after being a LPN and received new graduate pay that is quite a bit below the average NC salary even though I have been a nurse, just not a RN. How frustrating, no consideration for my past nursing with new position. I can tell that nursing jobs and need is not as crucial as even one year ago. Most employers want at least 1 year experience. How can you get experience if they won't hire and give you that invaluable on the job experience?

I work in NC and I make significantly less than what the average is in the state. I am still making a new grads salary since we have not recieved raises in two years. This is very unsatisfactory to me, and I am not someone who is just happy to have a job. I along with many of my collegues work very hard, it just seems like a slap in the face!

Wow, I don't believe this is accurate as it doesn't state how many years these nurses involved in this poll have been employed. Being a relatively new nurse I make substantially less than the $39.88/hr. as listed for MA. I will be moving to Iowa soon and it looks worse for wages there but the living expense is far less there than in MA, so I guess it all balances out. I would like to know how old this information is.
