Capsule, a provider of medical device connectivity software and hardware products, announced the launch of its nurse story contest "based on the premise that busy nurses wish they had more time for patient care activities."
Entries for the "Wish I Had More Time To." contest are accepted in various formats including audio, video and print. Various examples can be seen on the contest website.
Capsule is offering several prizes, including $2,500 to the winning nurse or hospital's charity of choice, a luncheon in celebration of Nurses Week and a subscription to the American Journal of Nursing.
The winning nurse will also have his or her own avatar and animated cartoon created featuring the winning story, similar to Capsule's YouTube video "Capturing Vitals" starring Nurse Sue.
When all of the entries have been accepted just before Nurses Week (May 6-12th), the top 10 stories chosen by a panel of nurses will be posted on Capsule's Facebook page. Capsule's Facebook fans will then have the opportunity to log on and vote for their favorite stories. The story with the most likes at the end of the month will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner and recipient of the many prizes included.
The announcement will take place during Nurses Week. To learn more, read the official contest rules here.
