The Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing and Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) announced a $6,000 co-sponsored grant to support research that encourages the appropriate use of standardized assessments at the end of a nursing program.
According to STTI, by increasing the body of research in assessment, new tools and resources can be developed for nursing faculty. This enables faculty to better measure students' progress throughout their education and provides students with a stronger knowledge base they can take with them throughout their nursing career.
"We are excited to continue our partnership with ATI," says STTI CEO, Patricia E. Thompson, EdD, RN, FAAN. "With a common goal of offering innovative nursing education and professional development solutions for nurses worldwide, I am pleased that ATI and STTI can work together to increase the body of research done in assessment."
"ATI is excited to collaborate with STTI on this nursing research grant to support the appropriate use of standardized assessment in nursing education," said Stephen Fredette, CEO of ATI. "We believe this research has the potential to impact remediation strategies, curricular evaluation and revision, assessment timing, and key markers for identifying at-risk students. We are anxious to award the grant and see the results in action."
The grant will be awarded as part of STTI's co-sponsored partner grants program. Registered nurses with a current license, a master's or doctoral degree or those who are enrolled in a doctoral program are encouraged to apply by July 1.
