The American College of Medical Informatics is a professional society of elected Fellows from the U.S. and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics and who have met rigorous scholarly scrutiny by their peers.

The society received 60 nominations and only 15 were selected.

Bowles' research examines decision making supported by information technology to improve care for older adults.

She is the co-founder of RightCare Solutions, a software product designed to improve healthcare outcomes.
