Program Gives Nonprofits More Fundraising Power
Shift My Gift, a new digital tool that empowers users to turn money otherwise spent on gifts they don't need into charitable giving, announced a free tool for nonprofits to multiply the fundraising power of their existing donor base.
The web portal (www.shiftmygift.com) allows individual users to divert money that would have been spent on traditional gifts to charities and nonprofits, and enables any nonprofit to create a Shift My Gift Campaign at no cost.
To initiate a campaign, a nonprofit creates a landing page on Shift My Gift, and shares the link with its supporters through its regular e-mail, newsletter and social media channels. Following the link enables the recipients to create an event of their choosing where this nonprofit has been preselected as the first gift option. This event link on Shift My Gift is then shared with the friends and family of the recipient.
The "shifter" turns their celebration into an opportunity for giving to the causes important to them and the "gifters" avoid the hassle of gift shopping and know what they are giving is important to the recipient.
