Baltimore - Franklin Square Names Nurse of Year
Jennifer Emuna, RN, was recently named 2011 Nurse of the Year at Franklin Square Hospital Center. She was honored at the hospital's annual Nursing Awards Ceremony held during Nurses Week.
Emuna was nominated by peers in Franklin Square's operating room. Nursing colleagues noted that Emuna is "a patient-centered nurse with an outstanding realization of patient safety/care and the measures needed to ensure the welfare of the patients, their families, our physicians and staff."
Emuna chairs the clinical practice committee, which reviews and revises the policies and procedures for the OR. Earlier this year, she published an article on a surgical site infection initiative in The Journal of Vascular Nursing.
