Boise, Idaho-Grant to Benefit St. Luke's Children's Healthy Lifestyle Program

St. Luke's Children's Hospital, Boise, Idaho, received a $25,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation for its YEAH! (Youth Engaged in Activities for Health) program.

The program aims to reduce childhood obesity in Idaho by focusing on changing behaviors through a team approach that empowers participants to gain knowledge, skills and confidence to live a healthy lifestyle.

The grant was presented to St. Luke's during a closing ceremony for the inaugural YEAH! Camp held Aug. 12-16 at Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, Boise. During the camp, 18 youngsters participated in a variety of healthy activities including games, crafts and cooking demonstrations. The camp concluded with a three-mile hike and a recognition ceremony for participants.
