Skaggs Regional Medical Center became a DAISY Award partner. Through this program, patients and their family members can nominate their nurse for exemplary care at Skaggs.
Quarterly, a nurse at Skaggs, nominated for the award, will be selected by the DAISY Committee to be honored. The honoree will be given a certificate commending him or her for being an "Extraordinary Nurse". The honoree will also be given a hand-carved sculpture called "A Healer's Touch."
"We are proud to be among the hospitals participating in the DAISY Award program," said Sheryl Tilus, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer, Skaggs Regional Medical Center. "Nurses are heroes every day, but it's important they know their work is highly valued, and the DAISY Foundation provides a way for us to do that."
Nomination forms can be found at www.skaggs.net, under the patients and visitors' tab and in the waiting rooms of Skaggs hospital and clinics.
