Advocate Trinity Hospital's recently opened a new wound care center on the city's south side.

Candidates for treatment at the new center include those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days.

The center is located at 8751 S. Greenwood Ave, Suite 100 in Chicago.

The Trinity Wound Care Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen at higher than normal atmospheric pressure as the patient relaxes.

Advocate Trinity Wound Care Center has partnered and trained with a nationwide network of researchers and specialists and manages more than 500 wound care centers nationwide.
