Inova Fairfax Hospital dedicated its new patient tower Dec. 14.
The 11-story South Tower will become the main entrance of the hospital. At 216,000 square feet, the patient tower includes all private patient rooms, including 120 med/surg rooms and 54 ICU rooms. The ICU floors are grouped into complementary specialties to improve flow and staff collaboration.
The overall design of the building employs evidence-based research to promote healing and safety. Environmentally-friendly elements reflect the hospital's commitment to sustainability.
