Sharon Rundle, MA, RN, was named the new director of quality, patient safety and satisfaction for Indiana University Health La Porte and Starke hospitals.
In her new role, Rundle will oversee the departments, including infection control, for both hospitals. In addition, she will oversee the cancer registry program as well as handle nurse coordination, education and research programs affiliated with Michiana Hematology Oncology in Westville.
Rundle has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, the majority of her career at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She has also worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Methodist Hospital in Gary, Ind. and the Center for Specialty Surgery in Munster. Her nursing expertise includes med/surg, critical care, nursing administration, case management, ambulatory surgery, quality/safety, regulatory compliance and project management. Most recently, Rundle served as director of quality and safety at IU Health Starke Hospital since 2011.
