Lisle, IL - IONL Welcomes ICNR Members, Announces New Executive Director

At Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders annual meeting on Sept. 16, president Dale Beatty, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, announced the appointment of Sharon Canariato, MSN, MBA, RN.

Carnariato served as director of nursing practice and, later, as deputy executive director, of the Illinois Nurses Association. Prior to that, she was director of nursing at Palos Community Hospital.

Beatty acknowledged the partnership efforts underway to recruit members from the Illinois Coalition for Nursing Resources (ICNR), which is dissolving in Dec. IONL will be restructuring some committees to create a forum for academic nursing leaders, many of whom were active in ICNR. This move is in sync with Institute of Medicine recommendations, said Beatty.
