New Port Richey, FL - Medical Center of Trinity Launches Campaign to Prevent Cervical Cancer

Medical Center of Trinity launched a "Happy Pappy" campaign in Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties to prevent cervical cancer.

"Cervical cancer is the fifth most common cancer found in women worldwide," said Nancy Maysilles, MHA, RN, chief nursing officer.

With prevalence of cervical cancer at an all-time high, the hospital advocates that women have Pap smears every 2 years, starting at the age of 21 or once they become sexually active.

"It's up to all of us in this community to make sure that the women in our lives are protected against cervical cancer, which often goes undetected because symptoms don't show up until much later," said Maysilles.
