Cooley Dickinson Hospital's third annual "Cooley Cares for Kids" fundraiser seeks to raise over $10,000 to support the hospital's pediatric programs.
The fundraiser, which runs May 1 through May 31, involves local businesses, schools, and community members partnering with Cooley Dickinson to help local children and families.
Each donation benefits over 9,000 children - newborns to teens - who receive care at Cooley Dickinson each year.
In the past, generous gifts from community supporters have helped Cooley Dickinson to update pediatric treatment areas and support the care provided by specially trained physicians, nurses and staff.
There are three ways for community members to participate:
• Receive a paper teddy bear for a $1 suggested donation or a stuffed teddy bear for $5 at various local businesses.
• Bring spare change to the TD Bank locations on Main Street in Northampton, Amity Street in Amherst, and Newton Street in South Hadley. The TD Bank Penny Arcade machine will sort your coins, then take your receipt to the teller and make your donation to Cooley Cares for Kids.
• Look for the spiral wishing well near Cooley Dickinson's main entrance, the food court at the Hampshire Mall, Big E's Supermarket in Easthampton, and at other local businesses and schools throughout May. The wishing well is a fun and educational way to donate spare change.
