OSHPD Awards Millions for Workforce Training

As part of the Song-Brown Program, the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) recently announced awards of more than $1.7 million to support FNP and PA training and preparation for primary care careers.

"Each of these programs has shown ongoing commitments in training and preparing healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide culturally competent healthcare that meets the needs of California's underserved populations," said OSHPD Director David Carlisle, MD.

The following 15 training programs received funding awards:

  • California State University, Long Beach, $170,000
  • University of California, Davis, $167,978
  • California State University, Fresno, $135,000
  • Sonoma State University, $135,000
  • Stanford University, $135,000
  • Keck School of Medicine-USC, $127,494
  • Riverside Community College, $100,000
  • University of California, Los Angeles, $100,000
  • University of California, San Francisco, $100,000
  • Azusa Pacific University, $70,397
  • San Joaquin Valley College, $65,000
  • University of California, Irvine, $65,000
  • Samuel Merritt University, $41,938
  • Charles R. Drew University, $33,684
  • Touro University, $25,350
