Dr. P. Phillips Hospital has been selected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to participate in the EPA Energy Star national building competition. The competition, which takes place across 33 states among a wide variety of facilities and organizations, is aimed at reducing the energy emissions by the greatest percentage by November 2011.
"We are committed to improving our energy efficiency and excited that our entire team here at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is on board for this important project," said Mark Jones, president. The hospital has already taken steps to improve energy efficiency by upgrading to compact fluorescent light-bulbs, a window film that retains heat, and by closely monitoring energy efficiency.
