Phoenix - Banner Health Facilities Achieve Stage 7

Seventeen Banner Health facilities have achieved Stage 7, the final stage in the adoption of electronic medical record (EMR) as acknowledged by HIMSS Analytics, a wholly owned nonprofit subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. HIMSS Analytics monitors and recognizes levels of EMR adoption and meaningful use in hospitals in the United States, Canada and other countries.

Banner Health's 17 Stage 7 hospitals are among 82 hospitals in the nation at this top level of EMR use.
 
In Arizona, Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa; Banner Boswell Medical Center Sun City; Banner Desert Medical Cente , Mesa; Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, Sun City; Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix; Banner Gateway Medical Center; Gilbert; Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Phoenix; Banner Heart Hospital, Mesa; Banner Ironwood Medical Center, San Tan Valley; Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale; and Page Hospital, Page, achieved Stage 7.

Banner Health facilities in Colorado achieving the recognition were East Morgan County Hospital, Brush; McKee Medical Center, Loveland; and North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.

In Wyoming, Platte County Memorial Hospital, Wheatland; Community Hospital, Torrington; and Washakie Medical Center, Worland, earned Stage 7.

The final stage in the EMR adoption requires that hospitals be paperless and be able to share clinical information with other healthcare facilities, networks, clinics, employers, payers and patients. At this stage, healthcare organizations also can store and analyze data to use to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.
