By Jennifer Oakley, FNP, MSN, RN
As the Continuing Education Lead Nurse Planner at ADVANCE, my role is to optimize the learning needs of all nurses within healthcare profession. It is my obligation to find scholarly authors with distinguished expertise in their selected field of practice and give them the opportunity to have their voices heard.
In a forever changing medical environment, the latest standard of practice and educational demands are best understood by those who have the hands-on experience and knowledge to teach. Long gone are the days where we threw our papers written in an advanced nursing curriculum in the garbage. It's time to showcase that A that your professor gave you by submitting it for publication. Retrieve those power points that your manager asked you to present on topics related to patient care and use them to write an article. Take down that bulletin board that is hanging on the wall in the break room and teach us your understanding of practice guidelines.
I know that your hard work is sitting on your USB port somewhere, so go to your computer and send it to me so that we can all collaboratively learn from one another! I am calling upon all of the nursing authors out there to take a minute and read through the requirements established for CEU publication articles. If you are one of the millions of nursing scholars who have always said, "in the future I would like to have that published," then this is your lucky day, I can help you do that! Articles containing the prerequisites established by the ANCC guidelines will be assigned 1-2 contact hours and published on our website or in print. See the requirements below and visit http://nursing.advanceweb.com for the application details.
PS. Don't forget to check out our current articles available online to obtain your CEU requirements. And download the application below and send for my review.
Hope to hear from you soon!
