Exciting Things in Nursing

What makes you excited to go to work?

Last week I helped a young woman having her third baby. She was "scared" of the epidural. By her focus on my support of her, she was able to successfully receive pain relief and have a beautiful delivery.

Whenever I see patients being weaned from ventilators to trach cap, and eventually able to breathe on their own. This means that the care that i give to them is priceless and justified knowing that they are able to achieve back to their optimum level of functioning, and for my part a sense of fulfillment not only as a nurse but a brother in Christ to them.

When there is special events like a book sale or fundraisers like silent auctions, or bake sales;
When patients voice compliments on their care.
When you see patient improvement.
