Wound Care for Marathon's Injured

Nurses at Spaulding Rehab in Boston monitor and dress wounds to ensure proper healing

JP Norden, a spectator at the 117th Boston Marathon, lost his right leg below the knee and has burns and shrapnel injuries on his left leg. A month after the event, he was recovering at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.

Rachel Bronson, BSN, RN, CRRN, is one of the nurses involved in his care. The slide show below looks at the wound care Norden receives to his legs, one of which was amputated below the knee as a result of injuries he sustained as a result of the bombing.
