This webinar is no longer available. Other webinars are available in our archive.

Alarms on medical devices are designed to help keep patients safe. But when nurse are bombarded by alarms coming from all directions, the tones turn into a din. This level of sensory overload can desensitize nurses. Nurses know not all alarms indicate a problem or immediate action.

After listening to this webinar, the learner will be able to:
  • Describe the current literature on alarm fatigue.
  • Identify system and human issues that can contribute to alarm fatigue.
  • Describe a system wide approach that can be developed to address alarm fatigue.

Following the presentation, our speaker will take part in an interactive Q&A session. Please come prepared with your questions on this topic.
