Which States Have the Most Demand for Nurses?

A new report from Digital Third Coast, a Chicago-based marketing service, details which states have the most demand for nurses and where nursing demand is currently the lowest.

Digital Third Coast collaborated with the nursing program at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., to explore nursing demand across the United States and analyze job listing data from Indeed.com.

Demand for nurses is highest in New Mexico, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and North Dakota. Conversely, nursing demand is lowest in Utah, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

According to the study, factors that impact nursing demand include funding from local and state budgets, higher salary and the state of healthcare in a particular region.
