Antibiotic Resistance in Healthcare Associated Infections: How Your Laboratory Can Address the Challenges of MRSA and Carbapenem Resistant Organisms

Although antibiotic resistant bacteria have been with us since the beginning of the antibiotic era, the development of nearly complete resistance in both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria has impacted dramatically both the management of patients and laboratory testing. This presentation will focus on two major groups of antibiotic-resistant bacteria: MRSA and carbapenem-
resistant gram-negative bacteria. The global epidemiology of these organisms will be discussed as well as the technical challenges for the detection of this resistance.

Following the webinar, our speaker will take part in an interactive Q&A session, so come prepared with your questions on MRSA and carbapenem-resistant organisms.
