Miller Children’s Recognized for Children’s Asthma Care

Miller Children’s is one of three hospitals in California earning the distinction of Top Performer on Key Quality Measures, by The Joint Commission, for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance in children’s asthma. The ratings are based on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the 2012 calendar year.

To earn this prestigious recognition, Miller Children’s must receive a 95% score. This means Miller Children’s provided an evidence-based practice 95 times out of 100 opportunities. Each accountability measure represents an evidence-based practice – for example providing a home management plan of care for children with asthma.

Miller Children’s Pediatric Pulmonary Center offers “total pulmonary care,” meaning board-certified specialists and care teams in pulmonary, asthma, allergy and immunology, work together to cover the entire pediatric respiratory spectrum.
